PRP Therapy for Joint Pain Regenerates the Tissues
Remember when you used to bounce back from injury? When simple movements didn’t hurt?
Let us help you remember. Before you consider an expensive and invasive surgery that may leave you worse than you when you started. We’re excited to offer this procedure to those suffering from joint, tendon, or ligament pain and injuries in Vancouver, WA. Whether you’ve suffered an acute injury or have a stubborn, chronic source of pain, PRP can help you be back to being active, and many report significant improvement or complete resolution of pain.
What is platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for joints, tendons, and ligaments?
At Northwest Lifestyle Health, we practice two categories of injection therapy – PRP and AmnioFix®. Both categories of injection therapy treat weakened joints, tendons, and ligaments.
PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. With PRP Therapy, we use your body’s own blood plasma to isolate platelets. Your platelets are rich in activators and growth factors that, when injected to the site of your injury, stimulate your body’s ability to regenerate and heal.
AmnioFix® is an FDA-approved injection therapy that works much the same way as PRP, but using Human Chorioamnionic Membrane dCHAM. Human amniotic tissue is full of growth factors. When injected to the site of an injury, the stem cells cause your own stem cells to migrate to the site of injury and start the body’s own healing processes.
What type of joint, ligament, or tendon pain can benefit from this therapy?
Platelet-rich plasma therapy can be very effective in healing chronic or acute musculoskeletal pain–even pain that doesn’t respond to anti-inflammatory medications, physical therapy, or chiropractic treatments including:
- Spinal Pain
- Arthritis Joint Pain
- Rotator Cuff Pain
- Sports Injuries
- Tendinitis and Tendon Tears
- Plantar Fasciitis
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
- Tennis Elbow
Is PRP therapy safe for my joints, ligaments, and tendons?
Injection therapy has been in use since the 1930s, and the more recent advances of PRP Injection Therapy and AmnioFix® are also both considered safe. Because PRP Therapy uses your body’s own platelets, you don’t risk an allergic reaction.
AmnioFix® is pure and sterile and conforms to the requirements specified in the FDA’s Good Tissue Practice regulations and in the standards of the American Association of Tissue Banks. It is also has no tissue that would cause an allergic reaction when injected.
Which type of injection therapy is best for me?
Our trained provider will conduct an initial evaluation to determine if PRP, AmnioFix® or a combination of both injection therapies will be right for you.
How many treatments will I need?
One of the things that makes injection treatments so remarkable is how fast it works to eliminate pain. In our experience, even people who have suffered for a year, and who’ve tried other treatments including steroid injections, physical therapy, and chiropractic, have experienced over 90% improvement after one treatment of AmnoFix® or PRP injection.
